About the journal

Founded in 2000 by the Department of Modern Languages and Business Communication of the Faculty of International Business and Economics at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, DIALOGOS is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Editura ASE under the Diamond Open Access model. It is organised in two complementary strands, Language Sciences and Language Teaching (orange series, even-numbered issues) and Literature, Communication and Cultural Studies (green series, odd-numbered issues). Since the journal became annual, in 2016, the two strands have alternated from one year to the next; before that, the two issues of a given year carried one each. DIALOGOS also publishes, on an exceptional basis, special and anniversary issues, which are held to the same scholarly and editorial standards as regular issues.

Mission and scope

DIALOGOS publishes original research advancing knowledge in language sciences, language teaching, literature, communication and cultural studies.

The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches and fosters dialogue between the theoretical and methodological perspectives that shape these fields. It welcomes original research and critical studies, thereby contributing to the dissemination of research findings and to scholarly exchange within the academic community.

The journal is open to all those with an interest in research: established researchers, academics, doctoral candidates and students who have completed a master’s dissertation.

Since 2018, every issue also carries two standing sections: Varia, for contributions outside the theme, and Reviews, for book reviews.

Frequency

Annual. The journal has published one issue per year since 2016 and two issues per year from 2000 to 2015.

Languages of publication

Manuscripts may be submitted in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian or Romanian.

Peer review and publication

All manuscripts submitted to DIALOGOS undergo double-blind peer review, in accordance with the principles of research integrity and with the journal’s editorial policies.

The journal is published simultaneously in print and online.

Since issue 38/2021, every research article published in DIALOGOS has been assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) under prefix 10.24818, held by the Bucharest University of Economic Studies. Front matter — forewords and introductions — is not assigned one.

Articles appear under the CC BY 4.0 licence. The terms of reuse are set out in the open access policy.

Dissemination and indexing

Articles published in DIALOGOS are indexed in national and international databases, directories and catalogues.
