Instructions for authors

Languages and originality

DIALOGOS publishes articles written in French, English, German, Spanish, Italian or Romanian. Contributions must be original and must not have been published previously; the journal does, however, accept papers presented at academic conferences, provided they have not appeared in the corresponding proceedings.

Formal presentation

Articles written in a language other than English are accompanied by an English translation of the title, the abstract, the keywords and the biographical note. In order to preserve double-blind peer review, the manuscript itself must contain no information allowing the authors to be identified, including first-person self-citation.

Sources and citations

Any information or idea taken from another source (book, article, conference paper, online resource) must be clearly attributed to its author. In-text references follow the Harvard style: author’s name, year and, where applicable, page number — for example (Brown and Levinson, 1987: 62). Beyond three authors, only the first is named, followed by et al..

Short quotations are included in the body of the text, within quotation marks, as in: “Le propre de la publicité écrite est qu’elle se fonde sur un double système, iconique et verbal” (Adam and Bonhomme, 1997: 55) [“The distinctive feature of written advertising is that it rests on a double system, iconic and verbal”, our translation]. Quotations longer than three lines are presented as a separate paragraph — one blank line above, one below — in italics and without quotation marks. Their number and length should be kept limited.

Footnotes are reserved for supplementary information; references and comments are, as a rule, incorporated into the text.

References

References appear at the end of the article, in alphabetical order, following the models below — the publisher precedes the place of publication. A resource that has a DOI is cited by that permanent address, without an access date: the date is given only for online documents that have none.
