Abstract
Conversation analysis was invented by sociologists and recovered later by linguists. This article reviews the main authors and works whose object is conversation analysis, emphasizing the aspects that allowed for the creation of linguistic conversational analysis. The article is also accompanied by a glossary of the main terms and a guiding bibliography in this field.
