La grammaire générative-transformationnelle : concepts-clés et devenir du modèle
Abstract
In this paper, I will first attempt to recapitulate, in a fairly neutral way, some of generative grammar's most frequently quoted concepts, in the didactic literature (such as: grammaticality, independence of grammar, competence/performance, ideal speaker-hearer, (governed by rules) creativity, and so forth), and to introduce, chronologically, another critical set, of rather technical notions this time, essential to the evolution of the model, from Syntactic Structures (1957), to the so called "Theory of Principles and Parameters" (1981-1993).
