Abstract

A fast development of technology, of means of communication, speed and busy timetables, outsourcing, economic globalization and cultural diversity - these are some of the characteristics of the world we live in, a world in which developing an online method for teaching foreign languages proves its importance and necessity. Today's technology offers us many new options: we can reach the same objectives and transmit to our students the same items of knowledge, integrating the traditional types of activities with graphics, sounds and videos and exploring an infinite potential of resources (the internet). This method offers advantages for both parties involved, such as: it is flexible (in point of learning styles, rhythm and schedule), accessible and convenient for students; cost and time saving for the teacher. But there are also disadvantages to consider: impersonality, breaking the dynamics of the teaching process, no immediate feedback, punctual and not contextual correction of mistakes.
