Terminology Training
Formation continuée à la recherche documentaire des traducteurs de la fonction publique
Abstract
This article will introduce an experiment, carried out during several years by the Institut Marie Haps (Brussels), in collaboration with Lessius Hogeschool (Antwerp), and aimed at the continuing education of the translators of the Belgian Federal Administration. The core will address the sessions of documentary research organised in the context of a more general training in the field of terminology and CAT tools. The whole development of such a training, as well as the different steps of its implementation and certification will be commented. Special attention will be devoted to the constraints linked to the audience and to the strong requirements of interlinguistic equivalence. Some good practices will then be recommended, ranging from the needs identification to the assessment of the quality and impact of such a training.
