Abstract

Sometimes moving and sometimes disturbing, Francophone literature highlights the pairs center/periphery, unity/diversity, metropolis/margin, as well as other concepts such as « miscegenation », « identity » and « otherness ». These writings are characterized by their complex dynamic, as well as by the tendency of various literatures to become autonomous and by various centers (Paris, Brussels, Montreal, Dakar, Abidjan, Alger, Bucharest) and various peripheries to compete each other, their discourse being at the same time a quest for a center and a reconquest of meaning.
