La médiation (inter)culturelle en milieu de travail

Abstract

This paper reflects on the universe of enterprise, where the mediation activities are more and more important considering the fact that the inter-comprehension is not a piece of evidence and, consequently, conflicts between "we" and "they" could appear any time. The cultural aspects assimilated by every group give them an orientation system according to which they perceive and interpret the communication situation, construct their discourse, act and interact. The confrontation between these orientation systems frequently damages the achievement of a common project without the mediator intervention who "translates" for ones the meaning universe of the others in order to dissipate the misunderstandings – source of unproductive frustrations and frictions. Besides, he encourages them to exploit creatively their diversity. The paper finally proposes that the mediation be also treated from the perspective of the academic studies as a way of building bridges between the future professionals' needs and the (theoretical/practical) skills taught and required at university.
