L'approche longitudinal au service de l'évaluation de l'expression orale en français des affaires

This study investigates the methods of evaluating spoken performance of Romanian students who study French as a second foreign language in International Business and Economics. It examines the assessment strategies used in teaching speaking skills with a focus on the techniques based on self-evaluation. Considering the longitudinal and the communicative approach as a 'modus operandi' for developing assessment for speaking, we attempt to raise students' awareness of self/peer assessment through reflective activities as part of their progression in the learning process. The present contribution aims to respond to a need for information and inspiration on semi-autonomous learning in French as a foreign language. The findings indicate that responding to the needs of understanding speaking assessment in relation to teaching, learning and assessing practices in business classroom contexts provide both challenges and professional development opportunities for language teaching academics.
