Les micro-récits « métanarratifs » assertifs dans les romans d'Effa : une pratique discursive satirique

In Nous, enfants de la traduction, Voici le dernier jour du monde et Le miraculé de Saint-Pierre, the Franco-Cameroonian novelist Gaston-Paul Effa makes a unique use of micro-stories. In these novels, in fact, if certain micro-stories dotting the main stories present themselves as textual areas reserved for the description of places, objects and characters, other micro-stories appear as textual fragments into which slip the impressions of the author on remarkably out-of-text realities. This last category of micro-narratives, generally referred to as authorial commentary, is what should be called assertive metanarrative micro-narratives. The attentive analysis of this class of micro-stories reveals that Gaston-Paul Effa deploys himself to question not only the precariousness of the African continent, but above all the causes of this precariousness. It therefore turns out that the gloom of the black continent is caused by internal and external factors. The in-depth interpretation of these causal factors of African decline allows us to decipher the authorial philosophy according to which African chaos persists due to a lack of real awareness and real commitment from the Africans themselves.
