Abstract

This article aims to explore the potential and challenges of project-based vocabulary instruction in the context of teaching business German to university students. It investigates how subject-specific terminology can be meaningfully embedded into communicative learning scenarios and critically examines the role of Anglicisms as a lexical and discursive phenomenon in economic language. Furthermore, the article outlines innovative didactic approaches that integrate lexical development with language awareness, intercultural reflection, and academic literacy, offering practical insights for a more reflexive and competence-oriented Fachsprachenunterricht (specialized language instruction) in higher education.
