Les méthodologies non-conventionnelles
Résumé (en anglais)
The article reviews unconventional methodologies used in language teaching, i.e. the Total Physical Response, the Silent Way, Community Language Learning, the Natural Way and Suggestopedia, presenting their origins, theoretical background, objectives, syllabus, teaching techniques and targeted audience. At the end, the author explores the reasons why such methodologies failed to spread among language teachers: first, their limitations as to objectives and audience, second, and most important, the fact that they did not rely on any linguistic theory, which would have given their approach coherence and consistency.
